No country for old men is a novel by Cormac McCarthy and really starts well with the voice of Tommy Lee Jones which builds up quite nicely for the rest of the movie.

Movie is nicely made with a very simple story. Story line grips us but completely makes us wander at the end. The movie ends abruptly and the last twenty minutes has nothing to offer.

Few of the scenes are really interesting and make us sit on the edge of the seat but offers a unique kind of comedy at times.

P.S - There is no background music but it does wonders and some how it intensifies few of the scenes brilliantly.

Atonement is based on a british novel and is one of the contenders for best picture academy award.

The movie starts well with interestingly film-making and stupendous background score. The story grips you for a half an hour with subjects like love,cheating, crime and misunderstanding. Slowly the story is dragged to last ten minutes of some relief atlast.

Though the movie fails to make an impact, the performances of the actors is above par.

Atonement is only watchable once and I do not see a chance of it wining the academy award for best picture this year.

He is Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (June 14, 1928 – October 9, 1967), commonly known as Che Guevara, El Che or just Che was an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, political figure, and leader of Cuban and internationalist guerrillas.

While in Mexico in 1956, Guevara joined Fidel Castro's revolutionary 26th of July Movement, which seized power from the regime of the dictator General Fulgencio Batista in Cuba in 1959. Two Indian PhD students from Louisiana State University campus at Baton Rouge were killed on Saturday morning and the New york police are looking for three or four young “black” males in connection with the murder.

31yr old Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and 33yr old Kiran Kumar Allam were found shot dead in the latter’s apartment.Each were shot one bullet in the head.The double murder came to light when Allam's pregnant wife found the bodies and made a distress call to the university authorities, said Swati Badgi K Rao, Cultural Secretary of Indian Students' Association in the US.

Allam was from Hyderabad and was pursuing a doctoral degree in chemistry.Allam was the son of noted Telugu author Allam Rajaiah while Komma belonged to Kurnool and was studying biology.

Sounds exciting but the movie fails to impress on the whole. The best among the lot comes at the last. The last 3 stories stand out and makes us appreciate few things, the 3 stories include - (Shabana Azmi and Naseerudin Shah's - Rice plate,Nana patekar's - Gubbare,Sanjay dutt and Sunil Shetty's - Rise and fall).

Dus kahaniyan is worth a watch for these three stories.

Saawariya.

Saawariya, the movie in collaboration with Columbia pictures was the most awaited and highly talked
about film until its release and now its no more in the limelight thanks to the bad critic reviews .

Its a pity,as this film deserves more. Before beginning to write this review, I was reading through some of the critic’s opinions and was surprised to see lot of negative remarks about the movie. I agree that I’m not well qualified to write
anything about their opinions, but this movie certainly deserves a lot more than what it has got.

Here is what I sincerely feel about the movie…Saawariya is an Indian classic.Period.A fairy tale about love, happiness, failure and life. The
Indian splendor and beauty reflects through every single frame, dialogue, set and through each character. although this movie is inspired from the short story “white nights”,but Sanjay Leela Bansali has made sure that it perfectly fits into Indian cinema. One of the major plus points is the narration. Probably we haven’t come across anything like this involving lots of creativity and aesthetic side. Think of how many times you have heard a prostitute unfolding a love story? That is what makes the narration even more beautiful taking the most aesthetic part into the consideration.

The movie is pretty straight forward and well directed. I agree that saawariya is bit poetic in the beginning but as the movie starts to flow, as a viewer I simply overlooked it and started enjoying it. All the characters were perfectly cast and one
of the best characters that audience can look up for is Ranbir’s character.

Another aspect of the movie that needs significant importance is the background score. I was awestruckby it when I watched the movie. Background score was deep and intense, making the whole mood of the movie flow with some magic. Next comes the art
direction. A visual treat to the viewer with many bright colours that are pretty much Indian in nature, which is what I really liked the most.

I would suggest the readers that even if you have read a bad review somewhere, I recommend you to go and check out this movie. And I suggest you not to keep any expectations before entering the theater.

As I said this is a classic, treat this as what I told and I’m sure you will appreciate the effort of Sanjay Leela Bansali. He raised the bar of Indian cinema to a new level making it look like an international film with a conventional Indian drama having an unconventional ending.

I suppose all the speculation on the movie is about the ending, we Indians are used to seeing happy endings.This might be one of the reasons why people are not willing to watch this movie. According to me this movie deserves a place next to
international classics. If you are a fanatic of classics, you certainly want this movie to be in your movie library.

Launching in Japan on November 22nd (with Europe getting it in early 2008, while us North Americans aren't yet officially on the list), while the overall design isn't hugely different from the currently slim PlayStation 2, there are a few noticeable changes. The AC adapter for the console is now built into the system - meaning no more "brick" on the power cord - yet even with this change, the console itself will be lighter in weight (if that's even possible). The overall size and shape of the PS2 will be the same as the current model, but the shiny "bar" that was present before has been extended to the far left (or bottom, depending on console placement) edge of the system, and the previous ridges - which were a design nod back to the original PS2 - have been replaced by a smooth, flat, squared look.

Karun Chandhok has received the most important call of his lifetime and it was from Red bull racing team for F1 test run. Karun races over two days at the Circuito de Catalunya in Barcelona on November 13 and 14.

Prior to the test, Karun will have the opportunity to spend some time at the team's factory in the UK getting acquainted with the personnel and use the team's simulator which will allow him a chance to understand the controls and electronics on board a Formula One car.

If you ask any one who has completed his/her college, What are you best and most happiest days in your life? then the answer would definitely be - College days. This is the theme of the movie and the title is apt and sounds brilliant. Shekhar kammula always deals with the simple things yet which make their impression on life.

Casting :
Casting is good and fair. The charactes fitted into the groove nicely.

Story:
Sweet and simple. Life(Few of the chapters) in engineering college.
The first half deals with making new friends , seniors, ragging and freshers party which goes on in the first year of engineering.
The second half deals with love, jealously, envy, not to forget farewell party and ofcourse campus placements too.

Performances :
Though everyone looked naive in their appearances and their acting skills they fitted the bill nicely and did a decent job. They have become instant stars and their pics are famously dispayed in orkut nowadays. Everyone wants to be a chandu or tyson or rajesh or madhu or shravz or appu. My friend murali says he's Rajesh.hehehehe

Music :
Music director Mickey J Meyer has done a decent job. Even though few of the songs remind you of some other old songs, they are hippy, hummable and good.
The background music is netter comparatively to the music in the songs.

Screenplay, Dialogues:
Screenplay is just like a river. It flows smoothly throughtout the three hours.
Dialogues are in colloquical form and few of them really stand out.Good job done by Shekar Kammula again. Especially Tyson dialogues at times are touching.

Direction:
He who uses his actors skillfully is a good director and Shekhar kammula is the best example. Without him the movie would not have been same. He worked with many new comers in this movie but pulled off something out of nothing from them. He has done has great job.Hatts off!

Best thing:
Dint show any negatives and influences the audience in a right note for example no bunks and everybody studys well.

Climax:
Happy days has a happy ending.

Big mistake. If your main aim is just money, it may just be the start of the road downhill. True, the indisputable purpose of working is to earn and that of a good career is a continuous salary, but when you choose your career choose one based on your skill sets and not how much an industry pays. If you have an attitude that blatantly screams, "Show me the money!", the only tangible object you may soon see is the exit.

Working in too many places for too short a time
Sure, it's great to say you worked for the best companies, but that's only if you hold more than five or 10 years of experience. Organisations do not see any reason to employ drifters. And if you are drifting, my suggestion is to dock that raft and jump on the big boats.

Photography, advertising, HR, sound. It's nice to see variety on any resume, but if an individual has no speciality, the uniqueness of employment is lost. No longer do people need someone who can do everything or knows more than what is needed.

Welcome the new world champions Men in Blue not yellow it's blue. It's a great feeling to see the team India doing well and winning a world cup (doesn't matter whether it's twenty20).

So you might be wondering what made India win?

Some say it's beacause of the youngsters, some say it's beacause of Dhoni and some say because of Yuvraj. But as we can see it's because of the whole team. Everyone shared their part to lift the trophy. It was amazing to see the guys playing together as a team. If one failed others stepped up. McLaren's debacle;fined $ 100 million

The McLaren Formula One team escaped a disastrous end to a promising season but were however docked all of their points in the constructors' championship after a decision by the FIA.

The FIA convened a World Motor Sport Council meeting in Paris to pore over allegations that McLaren, this season's pacesetters in both the drivers and constructors' competitions, benefited from a leaked 780-page dossier of secret Ferrari technical information.

As well as losing all their constructors' points, the British-owned team were fined 100 million (US) dollars.

Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso have however escaped losing the points they have won. Hamilton is currently leading the drivers' championship while Alonso claimed victory at Monza last week to close the gap on his team-mate to three points.

Ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, McLaren were in the lead of the constructors' championship with 166 points, ahead of Italian rivals Ferrari (143) and BMW Sauber (86).

The 'spygate' scandal has cast a gloomy shadow over the season since early July, when it emerged that Ferrari mechanic Nigel Stepney had given confidential information to McLaren chief designer Mike Coughlan.

In an FIA hearing at the end of that month McLaren were found guilty of unauthorised possession of Ferrari data but no penalty was issued as there was deemed to be no proof that they gained any advantage from the information.

Ferrari were outraged by that conclusion but clung to the FIA's promise that they would revisit the case if fresh evidence came to light. Ahead of last weekend's Italian Grand Prix it transpired that the FIA themselves had uncovered new evidence and Thursday's meeting, originally scheduled to be a Ferrari appeal, was switched to a full World Motor Sport Council hearing.

The new evidence is said, by the British newspaper The Times, to include details of phone and email correspondence involving, amongst others, Alonso, McLaren test driver Pedro De La Rosa, Coughlan and Stepney.

Throughout the affair McLaren have pleaded total innocence, maintaining that not a single component on their MP4-22 car owes anything to the leaked dossier.

Sometimes confusion emerges due to the choices we have. This is what is happening with us when we want to buy a new game console and we don’t know which one to buy, you either have to pick the Dream machine ‘Sony PS3’ with the heavy price tag or the compact and affordable ‘Nintendo Wii’. In between the two extremes we have the smart, affordable yet powerful ‘Microsoft Xbox 360’.

Lets us look at each of them individually now.

Sony PS3:

Launched on: November 11th, 2006 in Japan and November 17th, 2006 in USA, April 27th in INDIA.

Features:

Few of the Games for PS3: Spider-Man 3, Unreal Tournament 2007, Final Fantasy Next, Formula One PS3, Devil May Cry 4.

Drawbacks: Price, No infra red port,

Price: $499 for 20GB and $599 for 60GB.
It was launced with Rs 40k price tag in India but now fortunately few of the retailers are giving it for a special price - Rs 34k.

My view: Hard to resist even with the heavy price tag.Worth waiting till the price comes down. It’s my Dream Machine and can not wait to crab it.

Nintendo’s Wii:

Launched on: November 19 2006.

Features:

Drawbacks: Controller eats away batteries; lacks the advanced HD graphics and surround sound; can't play CDs or DVDs.

Games: Call of duty 3, Red steel, Need for Speed Carbon, Prince of Persia Rival Swords, Scarface, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition.

Price: $250.00 and 24,000 in Indian grey market( That’s high compared to it’s actual price, so wait for Nintendo to launch officially in India).

My view: It’s for everyone and we have to sweat a lot while playing(the best part). Cute, affordable and fun to play with the interactive joysticks.

Microsoft’s Xbox 360:

Launched on: US: November 22, 2005.Europe: December 2, 2005. Japan: December 10, 2005

Features:

Drawbacks: A noisy exhaust fan, a gigantic oversized power supply, no built-in wireless networking, and no DVI or HDMI output, support for next-gen HD-DVD movies requires a bulky external accessory, Online gaming requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live.

Price: Xbox 360 core system Rs 27,990

My view: Even with its design flaws it surely stands out with its high end graphics and good gaming experience for an affordable price. Coolest thing is that you can give it a try at your local Music world centers or the malls nearby.

RVG KI AAG BURNT

(movie review)

"It may sound like a cliche but it's a fact. RGV KI AAG is the worst movie I have ever seen," a viewer said to Nex-us.

The story is similar to "Sholay" except a small change. In RGV ki AAg, Amitabh has a brother who will be killed and for this reason he annihilates Mohan lal's family.

Why the movie did not stand up to it's expectations?

Casting :
The film flopped right here. No one really suited the original and legendary characters of Sholay. Casting was really bad.

Performances :
When the casting is bad, we can not expect more and it showed on the screen. Even though the movie had some great names Amitabh shined. He was awesone as the bad guy and played the role wonderfully. I would say he is a magician.

Music :
Apart from Mehbooba song none of the songs really clicked. Background score was very good at times.

Screenplay, Camera, Action, Dialogues, Cinematography :
Screenplay was not upto the mark. Got bored many times while watching and few of the scenes were direct copy from other movies.

Camera angles and Cinematography was good, especially in the scene where Amitabh cuts mohan lal's fingers.

Dialogues were very poor. This aspect was a big diasapointment in the movie.Moreover Action sequences were also poorly choreographed.

Climax :
Climax is the biggest let down in the movie.

Ramu himself admitted that he was nuts attempting to make sholay again. NO WONDER!

Vijay Mallaya, popularly known as ‘The King of Good Times’ in his true style has made a bid to buyout the cash strapped Spyker F1 team. Vijay Mallya has teamed up with Spyker's director of Formula One,Michiel Mol,to make an 80 million euro($109.3 million) bid for the cash-strapped team.

"This offer has been accepted by the Board of Spyker Cars N.V. and exclusivity has been granted to the consortium Orange India Holdings Sarl to proceed with due diligence ... to achieve completion within 30 days," the partners said in a joint statement late on Friday.

Mallya will be the chairman and managing director and will nominate three directors to the board. The Mol family will nominate two directors.

Spyker Formula One team is owned by Dutch luxury sports car maker Spyker Cars NV.

"I have been dreaming about owing an Formula One team. I was looking at the right opportunity to show up at the right time," Mallya told a news
conference on Saturday.

"The deal is good for Formula One. It's good for India and it's good for Formula One Management because viewership is going to shoot up now," he said.

Mallya's involvement is reportedly in his 'personal capacity', meaning that his airline Kingfisher will continue to sponsor Toyota.

Mallya, a key supporter of a Grand Prix in India said: "Part and parcel of bringing Formula One to India is to also have an Indian company involved.

"We have drivers, we have Narain Karthikeyan, we have Karun Chandok and I hope there will be more as we go along."

With this deal in the bag and an Indian grand prix being a possibility within next two years, it will be a sheer delight for the Indian formula one enthusiasts to see those mean machines burn rubber on the Indian roads.

GOD's DEBRIS- Book review

A 132 page thought experiment, "GOD'S DEBRIS" is no Scott Adams usual Dilbert comic series. It's a thought provoking master piece creating illusion in the name of illusion. It’s for readers' brain to comprehend such logic.

"WHY do you believe what you believe...?" is what the book is all about. It effectively takes hold of the question and spins it around some deceptively simple answers.

Don't think there is no premonition for the orthodox believers of GOD. Don't ever think this as a atheist's work either.

The Author introduces you to the book with some flabbergasting lines.

"The target audience for God’s Debris is people who enjoy having their brains spun around inside their skulls"

He takes a precaution not to offend any.

"The story’s central character has a view about God that you’ve probably never heard before. If you think you would be offended by a fictional character’s untraditional view of God, please don’t read this"

By now you must have understood what the book is going to deal with?

Picking up the threads of popular science and philosophy, God's Debris gently weaves them into a captivating story.

A young man who delivers packages meets an old man in order to deliver one. The old man not just intelligent, an equal or more to Einstein in his perception stops him with a more highlighted question.“If you toss a coin a thousand times, how often will it come up heads?" and there starts the conversation in the form of questions and answers bounced back and forth with the reader listening.

The first half of the book is undoubtedly awesome. The old man consistently keeps your brain at work with some unconventional thinking and concept, especially when he questions God's omnipotence. Then he introduces you to a completely different perspective about God. He always intrigues you with such a challenging logic sometimes even questioning Einstein's and Newton's laws. He gives a feeling that he has got comparatively wider perception. If you're the kind of a person who finds novel reinterpretations of God's nature threatening, read no further. But his answers to life's big mysteries the nature of God, reality, free will, probability, science, creation & evolution and religion - all sound plausible.

BUT, But, but.....

Along the lines, something is wrong. There lies the author's challenge. Why the old man’s answers wrong? You will hear him say that when there's more than one possible answer, the simplest one is probably right. But how often have you actually found that to be true? If it isn't true - if the simplest answers are, quite simply, wrong - why? Questioning the free will of human, he gives you a free will to judge his answers by asking a question "why"?

Plus:

- The unconventional thought experiment.
- Interesting discussion about the theories of science.
- Tricky philosophical reasoning..

Minus:

- Few explanations are absurd.
- Not so interesting at the end.

YAMA DONGA : The Trio Strikes Back!

After a series of flops and average rated movies, Junior NTR would have been waiting for a movie that would set him on the hit-streak. RAJAMOULI, the director, who gave Jr. NTR his career defining hits would obviously be the ideal choice for him to get a fresh start to his retarded career.

After two block busters “Student no.1” and “Simhadri”, the awesome - NTR, Rajamouli and Keeravani ‘trio’ is back!
Firstly, this is not a typical Rajamouli movie. He navigated through a new territory from his regular revenge, drama and action films. This time he chose a socio-fantasy subject.
Story:
Raja (NTR) is a petty thief. He sets out to steal a gown on the insistence of a businessman (M S Narayana). He meets Mahi (Priyamani) who runs away from her house due to the harassment shown by her family members towards her. Raja brings that gown. When he is about to get paid, the businessman dies of a heart attack. So Raja abuses Lord Yama in frustration. Yama (MohanBabu), who boasts that the people on earth are afraid of him because of his unbiased judgments, listens this and gets angry. He asks Chitragupta to bring Raja to Yamalokam though he has many years to live. Raja comes to know that Mahi is a very rich girl and plans to get a ransom from her relatives for her release. In the process Raja is killed by goons and is taken to Yamalokam. How Raja makes Yama's life miserable in the Yamalokam and comes to Earth again forms the rest of the story. There is a love angle to this between Raja and Mahi.

Positive aspects:
The first half is very interesting and especially the pre-interval sequences are amazing. As Lord Yama in a brief role, NTR’s acting and dialogue delivery is excellent. Indeed, he surpassed Mohan babu in those scenes. The major attraction in the movie is the graphical work of Late NTR’s scene with his grandson NTR and the Yamalokam.

WHO SAYS TOLLYWOOD IS NOT CATCHING UP WITH INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS IN THE GRAPHICS DEPARTMENT??

The EFX has done a splendid job and hope they win an award for their work. As usually the comedy king Brahmanandam and Ali were good. The character of Yama was very active and Mohan babu has added a flavor to it with his style of dialogue delivery. Keeravani’s music is very good especially for the songs ‘Noonugu meesalodu’, ‘Nagamalli’ and ‘Nachore’.

Minus points:
The post interval proceedings lack fizz and the climax is predictable. The film runs over 3 hours and definitely needs trimming in the second half.

Performances:
NTR was excellent. His new physique will attract many people to this movie and his hairstyle was stylish. His body language, dialogue delivery in the mythological role and his verbal exchanges with Mohan babu definitely need applause. His dance performance in the songs ‘Nachore’ and ‘Nagamalli’ is a real feast to his fans. Mohan babu is best suited for the role of Yama and has carried it off very well. Khusboo plays the role of Yama’s wife.
After NTR and Mohan babu it’s Mamatha Mohandas who steals the show in the second half. Priyamani plays a rather subdued role.

Cast:
NTR, Mohan babu, Priyamani, Mamatha Mohandas, Khusboo, Brahmanandam, Ali, M.S.Narayana and others. Rambha, Navneet Kaur, Preethi Jhingania and Archana make a special appearance.

Rating: 3.5/5

I am not a die-hard NTR fan but, after this movie I salute to his acting and determination to come back strong!

Transformers rocks!

(movie review)- watch the trailer before reading the review.

Making a movie out of a super successful comic series is challenging and intriguing. Fortunately the director-Michael bay was better off this time. His last movie was “The Island”, which was total bakwaas.

“Transformers” has nothing to talk about except the Robots. The story is nothing special or new, it's a war between good vs evil. Transformers somewhat reminds you of Terminator. The best part of the movie comes at the last displaying spectacular visuals.

The performances of the actors were decent. Screen play is fair and free flowing. Editing is a bit tacky here and there.

If “Transformers ” can be summarized into good, bad and ugly then:

Good : Breathtaking special effects – Transformers truly stands for its name. The transformation from cars to robots is simply awesome and there are many jaw dropping special affects and action sequences. The new Linkin park's single-"what i've done" is played at times and it fixed perfectly to the movie.

Bad : Few of the action sequences are too fast. It’s hard to know what is happening on the screen at times. In addition, there is too much talking (dialogues) when we want to see robots in action.

Ugly : Stupid comedy showing some racism and America’s domination.

On the whole Transformers is exhilarating and great to watch. It’s a must watch for all the movie goers only for its special effects and don’t forget to watch it only on the big screen.

Yamadonga (only for fans)

Yamadonga! When heard seems to be a reminiscent of Yamagola. Yes of course, a part of Yamagola’s storyline is included along with other movies like Yamudiki Mogudu and Maya Bazaar. Director, Raja mouli took a major risk to combine all these movies into one and his work was also very ordinary. The movie Yamadonga has got some routine scenes which we have seen during NTR times, making the movie normal again. I believe majority of the audiences won’t connect with the movie because few of the lines in telugu are hard to comprehend and most of us would struggle. On the other hand, this movie is a big feast for Jr. NTR fans. They can expect everything they ever thought of, right from his very complicated dance moves to his dialogue delivery, his slim body and to his change in hairstyle. There was great applause in the theatres for his quick dialogues in old telugu ( grandhikam) on the opening day.

Brief Story:
A normal guy (raju) does small thefts to get his life going and happens to swear yamadharma-raju once when he is in bad mood. Having heard this from Suvarlokha, Yama is ridiculed in front of his Sabah and wants to take revenge on this Raju, who has full 100 years life expectancy. Yama asks chitragupta to some-how manipulate Raju’s fate and kill. Raju learns that he has been brought there even though he had a longer life. From there on Raju troubles yama in suvarlokha and finally returns to his normal life. The rest of the story is all about how Raju escapes from Yama.

Performances:
Jr. NTR as a brat did a good job. He almost looked like his grand father when he was like young yama. His dance moves are outstanding. Audience can see a new NTR in this movie.
Mohan Babu as Yama is also good. Nothing has stopped him from using his signature dialogues even as yama.
Priyamani is just normal. Her role is a bit deglamorised. There is nothing special about her role. Audiences get a feeling of watching a character they have been seeing for years in telugu cinema.
Mamtha Mohan Das is Ok. Her role involves both good and dark shades. She is more suited for her dark side. She is supposed to have a Nellore dialect but audience don’t get a feeling of that.
Rambha, Veda, Navneeth Kaur and Preeti Jangiani are good as glam dolls.
Ali’s comedy is excellent in the first half. Brahmanandam is adequate to his role.
Audience can no where believe that this movie was directed by Raja mouli. His direction is pretty ordinary. He just sumed up few old telugu movies to make this movie out.
The best part of the movie is the art direction. He did an exceptional job. The sets are very lavish and I think art director has a passion towards detail. The Yamalokha set is a gigantic one and is a bit new compared to the old ones.
Graphics are very good compared to what we have seen in other telugu movies till date. Music by M.M.Keeravani is good. Background music is also decent.

Analysis:
This is a movie for Jr. NTR fans for sure. They thoroughly enjoy watching this. The good parts involve Jr.NTR’s acting, his dance moves, a song showing Jr. NTR with his grand father - NTR, Ali’s comedy in the first half, and art direction. The bad parts involve the story itself. It is nothing new to telugu audience. Direction is also a major drawback. I seriously felt this movie could have been directed by any potential direction in the telugu industry. There isn’t much hard work involved in the direction.

As a final word, Yamadonga is strongly recommended to all the die hard fans of Jr.NTR.

Ever Imagined Yash raj movies without the mutiple star cast, conventional Indian drama with songs in expensive foreign locations and big sets? Heroines with the chiffon sarees on, running in slow motion when it suddenly rains, hero hold their hands to kiss intimately? Well, wondering why I said all that? Because, yash raj films is back again with their new venture – Chak de India, that has proven a movie can do well even without all these elements.

Yash Raj Films proved that they can get out of the conventional way of making a movie in India. This time they are up with a movie on sports. Yes, as we all know by now, Chak de India is about hockey. The game which was invented by us INDIANS and yet there is no support and encouragement that it deserves for a national game. Yash raj films dared to do a movie on this subject and that too have chosen the toughest part of it, women’s Hockey. But guess what? They made it so beautiful and interesting that we shouldn’t be surprised if we see a lot of people playing Hockey in our neighborhood after watching this movie.

Brief story:
The movie - Chak de India, revolves around a coach and his women’s hockey team. He tries to show the world what people can achieve as a team with a little bit of effort, no matter where they come from the country. Coach motivates and inspires the team to play as a whole for the nation but not for an individual’s welfare. The captain has a downfall in his career for which he was dropped out of men’s hockey team at his time. His immense love towards the game pushes him to take up the job to coach women’s national hockey team. The rest of the movie is all about how the team excels and makes their mark with the help of the coach.

Performance:
Shahruk khan was exceptional as a coach. His dialogue delivery and body language suited flawlessly for his role. He did complete justice to his character.
All the 16 girls performed well as needed for their roles. Although, some of them even did act so good that it’s hard to say they are new comers.

The music and background score by saleem- suilaman adds to the whole mood of the movie. Audience can expect adrenaline rushes quite a sometimes.
Cinematography was good. The depth of the clarity in the film is way too good. And the camera work is also impressive.
Screenplay by Jaideep Sahani was exceptional. It is well-matched to the audience who can’t sit in the theaters for as long as 3hrs. It was fast and keeps audience stick to their seats.
Direction by Amin is good. He was smart to make this movie short without dragging any further. He did handle the scenes involving the hockey matches well, capturing player’s emotions perfectly. He would have gotten what he expected from his crew. After having directed a movie like “Ab tak Chappan”, he was dexterous in not only changing his genre to sports but also executing the movie to its best.

Analysis:
The movie, on a whole is well balanced with all the good and bad parts. The good parts include comedy, lots of emotions, adrenaline rushes and few good lines from the actors. Though the movie is about hockey, auidence do get a chance to see glamor through some of the girls. The story was told in a pretty straight forward manner, which makes it worth watching for. Coming to bad parts,there were not much of the teams tactics shown . Most of the time, the movie focuses on the training rather than team tactics.Towards the end, the director failed to put things intact, one can guess what is going to happen even before the scene.

As a viewer I thoroughly enjoyed watching this movie. It is short and it is about hockey! I recommend not to miss this movie as it is one of the finest sports movies ever made and seen on the Indian celluloid. Infact one can consider watching it more than once.

CHAK DE INDIA!

CHAK DE INDIA.....! The title itselfs sounds so good, especially the India part in it and the triclolour it bears. My love for India is increasing daily and it definitely pulled me to the theatres.

Chak de India is the second sports film this year coming from Yash Raj banner . With Yash Raj’s Tararumpum bombing at the box-office, Chak de India broke that jinx and fortunately Tararumpum can never be compared to it.

Movie begins with a hockey world cup final match between India and Pakistan. kabir khan(Sharukh) gets chance to make a penalty goal which he misses out and India losses the cup. As it’s seen always, each and every hockey fan and authority members critize him and dig out a false prediction of having friends and connections with the opponents. This leads to self exile of Kabir Khan.
After few years ,India’s national hockey selection committee meet to select a coach for womens team for the world cup. For this job kabir khan appoints himself, as no-one takes it.

The story is about how kabir khan trains his 16 players and their journey till world cup final.

First half deals with the introduction of each player of the team and the second half deals with the matches that they paly against different opposition in their tour.

Coming to performances, Sharukh khan stands out as a coach and delivered a great performance (no one suits this role except sharukh himself). He was exceptional in emotional scenes and was good in the rest of the movie. All the girls were good, without them chak de India wouldn’t be possible. They fitted the groove perfectly and did well even though they were new-comers. Comedy track between few girls did really work out well.

Credit goes to the director - Shimit Amin and Screen writer -Jaideep Sahani who were great at their jobs. Screen play is fast paced, you won’t even bother to know anything but the movie,it’s that gripping. The dialogues are colloquial and inspiring at parts - the best of them comes from SRK and he says - “Maine pehli baar ek gor’e ko janda lagate huve dekha”. Salim Sulaiman scores and scores well with music and background score, the music whenever a match starts is just rocking. The title song is apt and great, it became so famous that the star cricket channel started using it. Inaddition to all these the production values are retained even though it’s a low budget movie.

(Harry potter: The order of the phoenix movie review)

The boy wizard - Harry Potter is back with his friends and magic spells on July 13,2007 in India but only with a promo this time. It is better said in this way: Harry potter -The order of the phoenix is a big build up for something better to come in the next episode. Sadly, there is not much fun in this movie apart from the last twenty minutes.

The main story revolves around the Harry and Dumbledore and the paranoia that surrounds them by the return of Voldemort. As an adolescent, Harry tries to cope up with his tantrums, loneliness,friendship,love and affection which depict the basic plot.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione) have done their job excellently and carry their grace effectively. Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge ( the new dark arts teacher in Hogwarts) did a brilliant work that you start to hate her just like the students in Hogwarts do.

If you know “Marla, the singer” in the movie “Fight club” then she does not require an introduction, I’m talking about Helena Bonham. She did a small villainous character of Bellatrix Lestrange, hope we see more of her in the next chapter.

The much hyped kiss in Harry potter’s new movie was a disspointment just like the movie itself.

The highlights of the the movie are definitely the last twenty minutes and a scene where the twins have fun with the fireworks in the examination hall. On the whole, movie is definitely disapointing and it seems like there is lot more to watch out for in the next episodes of Harry Potter.So watch it to understand the next chapters!

Is it worth watching in Prasadz Imax, Hyderabad?

Yes, it is surely worth watching in Imax. The 3D version gives a scintillating experience and leaves you spell bound in the twenty minutes action at the end.

Everyone of us is blown away after watching Linkin Park’s new single-“What I’ve done”on TV and built huge expectations on the album. The wait is over and the verdict is in. The album “Minutes to Midnight,” is a great collection of new sound and experiment from usual by LP.

The album has some awesome lyrics and is very well complied with both the slow songs and the rock side of Linkin Park, alternatively. It opens with musical bite- “wake up” and immediately hits you with the rock single-“Given up”. They maintain the same tempo through out. The songs to look out are – “Given up, Leave out all the rest, Bleed it out, No more sorrow, In pieces” apart from the smash hit “What I’ve done”.

If you are a serious Mike shinoda fan then you will definitely be disappointed. You can hardly hear him apart from the song – “Hands held high” with his rap and military drums in the background.

Federer makes it happen! Equals Bjorn Borg’s record

Would anyone ask for more? The match had everything, just like a typical bollywood movie.

Before the final, few of us thought that Djokovic would reach the finals beating Nadal in the semi-final, as Djokovic was playing very good tennis and was even compared to Federer. But after winning the trophy as Federer said, “There should be an element of luck”, Djokovic was injured and Nadal won the match without even sweating.

When it comes to Federer, it was just another walk in the lawn to the finals, where he then met his beloved rival. In general rivalry makes things interesting and in tennis it produces a great match.

Federer was the hot favourite for winning the title but Nadal always makes his presence felt. The best part of the Nadal is that he always makes Federer to play an extra shot to win a point and this is exciting to see because Federer matches have always been one sided.

The pressure of equaling the Bjorn Borg’s record of winning five consecutive Wimbeldon titles was always on Federer (but as we know he never shows it) whereas Radal was confident and eager to beat him on grass after wining French Open convincingly.

The first set belonged to Federer all the way as he dictated most of the play: the drama part comes now when Federer served on his third set point at 6-5 in the tie break, a Nadal backhand was called out but he challenged the decision and Hawkeye showed it had touched the line but Federer finally took the set with 8-6 on the scoreboard. In the second set Nadal came back strongly and showed us what he is made of? He broke the champion’s serve and took the set with the score-line 6-4.

The battle was surely boiling up at that moment with both taking a set each. It was in the midst of a great match. The defending champion took the third set by winning the tie break again but Nadal with his powerful play was back to push away Federer. It is then in the fourth set, the champion looked vulnerable. There were many unforced errors which made Nadal take the set 6-2.

The intermission part comes now, leaving everybody clueless on who will win the match! By watching Nadal’s play in the fourth set most of us expected him to win but the defending champion Federer made it happen. The sentiment scene in the story comes now when Federer wins his championship point and cries. He won his fifth consecutive Wimbeldon title but with a bit of luck and with a hiccup.

SIVAJI: The BOSS(Review 2)

India’s much awaited and most expensive movie “Sivaji” hit the screens on June 15th.
It’s a typical Shanker brand movie which talks mostly about corruption.
This time he chose ‘black money’ as his plot.
The movie is quite boring in the first half and second half was fine. The director replaced the signature cigar style of Rajni with chewing gum and tossing a rupee coin!

The story is about a NRI, “Sivaji” who returns to India after earning Rs.200 crores.
He reveals his vision of constructing educational institutions for the benefit of the poor students. When he approaches the officials for clearance certificates for his constructions he faces the corrupted Indian administrators. He passes through all these difficulties by bribing all the officials, but finds an obstacle in the form of Suman, (who plays a negative role) who is a highly influential person, forces the government to stop Sivaji’s work.
The plot unfolds in the second half but the basic theme of the movie got diluted. The ‘office’ treatment in the movie was good.
How does Rajni take revenge on the people who have unaccounted money? Will he succeed in his mission? Watch the movie to find out the answers to these questions!!

Rajni was superb. Shreya has done her part really well.
Suman has got the look of a villain but fails to deliver the fundamental characteristics of a villain. The combination of the Super star and Vivek in the comedy scenes did work well!
The music and background score of Rahman stands out! The photography is good. Credit goes to the make-up artists who made Rajni to look so young in the film. He has got 15 different hairstyles in the movie!! Costumes of the heroine were awesome!

If you were to take my suggestion, watch the movie without any huge expectations, else,
You would be highly disappointed!!

Heavy metal-fast achieving cult status among Indian youth

Besides love, joy and happiness there are these darker emotions called rage, anger, pain and disappointment. Sadly, there is no one ring that rules them all, no one genre that expresses them all.

“Heavy Metal” is that sip of energy drink that helps metal heads get out of that situation. Its heavy sound and fantasy, passion in pain, lyrics inspired from with-in creates such an infinite energy illusion which makes the metal-heads head bang the frustration off. To say it again , this is “Heavy Metal”, a genre that has with-stood the storms of time and inspired the metal heads to withstand those of life.

“Heavy Metal” is the language of the disappointed, the depressed, the deprived, the agonized, the pained who dare not express in public, but want their voice reach the crowds. Heavy Metal bands find their inspiration from pain and struggle, they are people who experienced misery and fought with circumstances more certainly. To strive, to seek, and not to yield; this genre of music is all about indomitable human spirit. The fans adulate them for the music, which is pure, straight and passionate.

Why am I talking about all this? There is a pertinent, for some, a perturbed question- Why heavy metal in India? Heavy Metal being one of most distinctly non-Indian form of music questioning the softness of Indian music, burgeoned into the most popular among the youth. Any college cultural fest wouldn’t do with out the rock bands performing. The growing popularity has to do with the incessant academic pressure Indian youth has.

“Heavy Metal” makes a getaway from the hectic lifestyle, since in India average means bad and lack of successful academic life leads to frustration, Heavy Metal acts as a respite from the triteness that creeps into and takes hold of college lifestyle.

“Heavy Metal” is attitude. The rebellious aggression of rock stars earns youngsters’ adulation. The spirit and energy of youth is defined this way. It’s the victory of freedom over authority.

With the best of world bands flooding to India, It is obvious Indian youth would have in mind the emulation of these stars. One of my friends Kalyan, an IIT student, a guitarist himself reacts after watching the IRON MAIDEN’S show in India, “They are GODS!”. Bruce Dickinson must hear this. Am sure his address as a mortal would invite derisive laughter of thousands. To the 20,000 people in Bangalore watching IRON MAIDEN play that night, He was nothing short of divine, inspiration for another generation.

The other international bands are following. The local bands like death incarnate, rudra, parikrama and the likes are flourishing. The youngsters realize they can make money out of their passion. A well paid job is not a fantasy anymore. Some four or five lads combine and form a band, express their frustration, write their pain.

We see in the coming years, Indian youth clad in black T-shirts, sporting long hair, moving with passion, aggression and attitude imitating their rock heroes. In the coming years, we see the “Indian ness” in the Heavy Metal which was already experimented by the linkin park and the other bands.

Now where do we stand, Do you hear “Heavy Metal”?

What a dream: Lewsi Hamilton- US Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton made history by not only wining his second consecutive win (as no rookie ever made this possible in his first season) but also winning US GP with his Mclaren ( no constructor won US GP other than Ferrari from its start).

The much hyped rivalry between Lewis and Alonso did really show up in the race. Both the drivers pushed hard and it was a visual treat for the F1 fans to see a fantastic race after disappointing end in 2005.After winning the US GP, Lewis Hamilton now maintains a healthy gap of 10 championship points with his team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Alonso was on full throttle from the start. He pushed and pressurized Lewis but he reacted well and kept his cool to win the race flawlessly.

Ferrari is back on the podium with Fellipe Massa coming third in front of his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. The top four finishers reflected their pole positions.

Kimi slipped to 6th from his starting position coming behind Heikki Kovalainen and Nick Heidfeld after the first corner but hats off to both Ferrari team and Kimi for quick pit stop and fast driving which brought back his position.

After the accident of Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber team introduces another rookie- Sebastian Vettel to F1 fraternity. Sebastian Vettel (born July 3, 1987 in Heppenheim) is a German race car driver. He has been the third (test and reserve) driver for the BMW Sauber Formula One team from the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix onwards. He also became the sixth youngest driver to start a Grand Prix and the youngest driver to score points in a Grand Prix.

The defining moment of the race certainly came in the lap 38 when Alonso bridged the gap and tried to overtake Lewis. Albeit rookie, Lewis never did a mistake and could maintain his first position and brought his car successfully to the chequered flag.

"What a dream, I never thought in a million years I would be here today with these drivers and win two races in North America,” said Lewis Hamilton.

(Sivaji movie review)

Sivaji (Rajini ), an NRI from US wants to serve poor people by providing free education and free medical treatment, So he establishes his own universities and hospitals. He faces ups and downs while achieving his goals but resolves them in his own style. The movie-Sivaji is all about how the hero faces the problems and how he manages to come out of them.

As it is a Shankar’s movie we can expect a message in the movie, this time Shankar had taken “black money” as the movie theme. Though the story of the movie is routine, Shankar presented it differently and distinctly. Shankar’s movie-making is good and cinematography (especially in songs) is great. The first half of the movie deals with comedy between Vivek and Rajni which is quite good and the second half shows how Rajni takes revenge against his adversaries.

Movie drags a little bit in the first half and picks up superbly in the second half. Usually, Rajni’s action is great and his “new style” is excellent (like tossing the one rupee coin and chewing bubble gum). He looks younger and smarter in the movie and the credit for this goes to director Shankar and costume designer Manish Malhotra.

Shreya plays an innocent girl in the movie. She has done a decent job and looks beautiful through out the movie with half sarees and not to forget the yesteryear’s telugu hero Suman, who plays the role of a villain in the movie, did a good job.

Rahman and Shankar gave us brilliant music throughout and did not disappoint this time either. Music by A R rahman is simply great. The background score rocks and it supported the screenplay very well.

Stunts-directed by peter hynes are good in the movie. Art director, Thota tharani did marvelous job (especially the glass set was great in the song “Sahana” and also the set in “Vaji vaji” song) and the graphic work is great in the song “Billa ranga basha”.

Sivaji is a typical Shankar movie and on the whole, it is a good entertaining movie with a social massage in it and Rajni fans will have a blast watching sivaji.

Bottom line is Shankar and Rahman combo has delivered another hit this time with Rajnikanth as hero.

Celebration,drama and carnage

The world has a new champion, the rookie- Lewis Hamilton, certainly deserves to be called so. He has won the Canadian GP in style and did it in his sixth race this season. He now leads the championship points convincingly leaving his team-mate Fernando Alonso behind in the second place.

The Canadian Grand Prix at Montr'eal had it all, mistakes of the drivers,crashes,spins,penalties and even retirement in the race.

The race started with Lewis leading the pack but at the first corner, Alonso spun and dropped back from his initial second position. Ferrari's kimi Raikkonen dissapointed again as he slipped down from his initial position too.

The safety car was very busy during the whole race. It came out four times making things worse for Lewis. There were many car spins, collisions with the wall and collisions among the drivers. The circuit was bit demanding and slippery so there is no point in blaming the drivers on pushing their cars hard. Robert Kubica of BMW sauber's team was a sure victim of this. He collided with the wall and spun full 360 degrees before coming to a halt and broke his leg. It is rumoured as one of the worst accidents in the recent past.

Fernando Alonso had a torrid race in the Montr'eal. He spun his car many times at the first corner of the circuit, got 10seconds go penalty and was even overtaken by Takuma Sato in the race.( Was Sato at his best or Alonso at his worst? )

Ferrari had a set back too as Fellipe Massa got a black flag in the finishing stages of the race. He was looking strong before he issued the black flag.

With all these happening at one side, Hamilton kept his nerve and drove like a true champion and never looked like he was retarding.

Technology on the surface!

Microsoft unveils first of its kind computer called as “Surface computer” at the Wall Street Journal's 'D: All Things Digital' conference on 31st of May. Microsoft is the first major technology company to bring surface computing to the commercial market.

Microsoft Surface Computer is actually a tabletop system that enables users to interact with digital media using their fingers, resizing and interacting with photos and videos, and even "digitizing" real-life events. Certain real world objects like credit cards, cameras and even a glass of drink can be recognized by the Surface Computer to produce an on-screen version. Unlike traditional touch-screens, the Microsoft Surface can recognise more than one finger at a time, allowing small groups to gather around and use it simultaneously

Surface Computer may soon replace the mouse and keyboard and will be soon seen at the commercial areas. The first versions of the computer have already been sold to corporate clients including mobile phone companies and restaurants.

To attract home consumers Microsoft said it hopes to bring down the price from the current $5,000- $10,000 range over the next three-to-five years.

Underground aquarium in Hyderabad soon

After the tallest building, Hyderabad is ready for first of its kind in the country, the project at Mir Alam Tank(underground aquarium) will be the second Singapore on the planet.

The Underground aquarium near Mir Alam Tank would be a major attraction to the city which is quickly making its mark in the tourism.

A first of its kind underground aquarium in the country proposed at Mir Alam Tank by the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority but delayed due to land dispute would finally take shape. The aquarium to come up on the lines of the one in Singapore would be executed in Public Private Partnership model and tenders were being invited from reputed international agencies, HUDA Vice-Chairman Jayesh Ranjan told The Hindu.

The master plan would have to be prepared by the selected agency in six months, HUDA VC said.

DRAVIDIAN POLITICS - PART2 DISPUTE BETWEEN MARANS AND KARUNANIDHI

Murosoli Maran, a former central minister from DMK, is a close relative of Karunanidhi. He married karunanidhi daughter and has two sons - Dayanidhi Maran and Kalanidhi Maran. Kalanidhi maran is the founder and director of SUN NETWORK. Recently, SUN NETWORK business has crossed Rs 10,000 crore mark and is having huge popularity all over the world.

karunnanidhi used SUN channel to promote his party and mainly during the time of elections. It proved as a great campaigning tool and led others to think about. So as to compete with karunanidhi's SUN tv, J.Jayalalitha launched her own tv channel named JAYA TV.

Jaya tv airs the negatives of DMK party and SUN tv airs the negatives of AIADMK party.
This has become a routine job for both the channels and it is continuing.

After the demise of Murosoli Maran, DMK decided to give Murosoli’s party seat to his son Dayanidhi Maran. He contested for the election and was elected as the member of parliament (MP) and was appointed as COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MNISTER in the year 2004.

DAYANIDHI MARAN improved BSNL services by not only introducing new plans but also introducing broadband connection (internet) from BSNL. He was the prime architect in making India as IT hub. He encouraged many IT firms from all over the world to setup there projects in India, which is one of the reason behind our booming economy.

DAYANIDHI MARAN had a dark side too. He was accused for demanding 33% share from the TATA group.

Marans’ even have weekly magazines. Karunanidhi son's Azigiri and Stalin are also the members of DMK. A survey was conducted recently by DINAKARAN ( a weekly magazine) owned by Marans. The results said that Stalin has 70% chances to succeed the top post in DMK and Azigiri has only 20% chances.

Before printing the survey Marans approached karunanidhi. He did not like the idea of publishing it. In spite of karunanidhi’s disapproval, Dinakaran published the survey which led to a cold war.

This survey made Azigiri supporters angry and attacked Dinakarans office in Madurai recently. This created a stir and raised disputes between Marans’ and Karunanidhis’.

On one side there was destruction, and on the other side karunandhi’s supporters and party members organized a function to celebrate Karunanidhi’s 50 years in politics. Sonia Gandhi (Congress president) and Manmohan Singh (Prime Minister of India) attended but Dayanidhi Maran did not show up at the function.

This controversy adding up with magazine controversy made DMK to think about Dayanidhi maran’s future in DMK and decided to expel Dayanidhi Maran from the DMK. Next day Dayanidhi maran himself came up with resignation for his ministry post.So now the ministry is given to another DMK member A.RAJA

After everything, few questions arise.
So whats next?
Will Karunanidhi family keep Marans aside and start there own TV channel
or
Will they continue their relation with Maran’s

Federer breaks Nadal clay streak

It is the worst season in his career since he became number 1 in 2004 but Federer knows how to win.

Everybody had lot of expectations from both the players in Hamburg Masters Final . Asusually, Nadal started off brilliantly and took the first set 6-2 but Federer lifted his game in second and third sets. He was aggressive and improved his first serve percentage and the shots were precise and powerful.

Federer broke the Nadal’s 81 match winning streak, a run dating back to April 2005 making it 1-5 with the clay master.

"It's absolutely a breakthrough," Federer said at a news conference. "It will be interesting to see how we both react to it in the French Open."

"For me it's just nice to be playing well again," said Federer. "It's not that I was playing so badly but it's my first clay-court title in a couple of years so that's great.

"I had a tough draw but I beat really top-class players. I'm feeling very good going into the French Open and I'm excited it's coming around now."

DRAVIDIAN POLITICS

Dravidians are people mainly from Southern India and Northeastern Sri Lanka. Dravidians were envisaged as early inhabitants of India who had been partially displaced and assimilated by Aryan language speaking populations.

Tamil Nadu is one of the prominent Dravidian groups and the state is known for its Dravidian politics. The first party that originated from the dravidian people is called DMK ( Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam).

Annadurai is the man who founded DMK on September 19th in the year 1949, with the help of few others. Karunanidhi (the present chief minister and president of DMK) joined the party later. Karunanidhi is a great poet writer. Karunanidhi and MGR (great idol of tamil cinema) were best friends. After the demise of Annadurai, Karunanidhi took over as the president of DMK in the year 1969. The star image of MGR (M.G. Ramachandran) raised sky high and he became the topmost actor in Tamil cinema. Using that image he entered in to the politics and joined DMK. Before joining DMK he was in congress.

MGR could make a place in the people’s heart as a star and as a politician. He was the God. For this popularity he was rewarded with the ministry. "As we all know in the politics there are no permanent enemies and there are no permanent friends". With many things happening around and because of ego clashes between MGR and Karunanidhi, Karunanidhi decides to expel MGR from the party. This was the major turn around in the Dravidian politics.

Then MGR formed new party known as AIADMK(All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)in the year 1972 with his followers. The present president of AIADMK is J.Jayalalitha(associate of MGR). Within of few years MGR became the chief minister of Tamil Nadu in the year 1979. He ruled for few years. After the demise of MGR in the year 1987, J.Jayalalitha took over as the president of AIADMK party .

After this many smaller Dravidian parties came into existence but they had short life.

SAM'S SPIDERMAN 3: A Must Watch

Guys....this is what I feel about Spiderman 3!

The movie is a director's special. Sam Raimi scores in all aspects in making this movie. In concise, his direction was awesome. The movie lacks in the story but, if u could realize that a super-hero film doesn’t require a solid story line you can enjoy the movie to the fullest! The movie is a bit long (2 and 1/2 hrs) which if was reduced by 30mins would have been a roller coaster ride.

The movie is packed with plenty of special effects like the sand man and most importantly the Spiderman with a negative shade to his character (black-suited Spidey) in the second half.

Peter Parker finds a new face at the “Daily Bugle”, another photographer
appointed to take the spidey pics. Harry and Peter doesn’t get along well as Harry thinks Peter was his father’s killer. The police inform Peter that the actual ‘killer’ of his Uncle was on the loose, who eventually turns into a sandman. The Spiderman is attacked by a mysterious thing which turns him into a black spidey, which shows his negative shade. Finally, Spiderman gets rid of that species which eventually attacks his fellow photographer. In the climax, Harry comes to know that Peter did not kill his father and comes to rescue him and MJ, who has been taken as a hostage by the sand-man and the black suited photographer.

I know that u guys are excited about the movie…so I leave it here!
Tobey McGuire did a splendid job once again. The roles of other characters have been well executed by the respective artists. The background score of the movie rocks!
The technical values such as photography stand up to the expectations of the audience that are needed for a super-hero film!

Go and watch the movie with your family or friends...don’t let it go!!!

Singapore and Valencia set to woo the world next year.

Singapore and Valencia had agreement to host F1 grand prixs’ from 2008.

In Singapore, it will be on a street circuit around the Marina Bay district, and is planned for September or early October.

"Singapore is going to be the leader with the street race at night - we're excited about the idea," said F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.

"Safety is of paramount concern to all of us," said Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran.

"Therefore, we will proceed with a night race only if the safety and operational requirements of all parties are fully met - if not, we will revert to a day race.

F1 cars do not have lights and so the circuit would have to be brilliantly lit for visibility purposes.

Singapore will stage the race for five years, with Ecclestone keeping the option to extend the deal for a further five years until 2017.Ecclestone wants to expand the F1 calendar from 17 to 20 races per season, and the addition of Singapore is the second new race in two days after Valencia joined the circuit on Thursday.

Singapore's government anticipates tourist revenues of around £33m from the event, and says it will cover 60% of the estimated cost.

Whereas, in Valencia it will be on a circuit around the Spanish city's new America's Cup port.

"This will be an urban circuit rather than a street circuit and even better than some of the ones that are already on the calendar," said Ecclestone.

"I'm convinced that we'll make a excellent job of it because it will be the best urban circuit in the world."

Valencia's willingness to pay an estimated 26 million euros ($35.20 million) to stage each race, and the boom in popularity of Formula One in Spain since the emergence of double world champion Fernando Alonso, are seen as major factors behind the decision.

The inclusion of the Valencia race would give Spain two grands prix next year, an announcement at odds with Ecclestone's previous opinion that no European country should have more than one race.

Seen Gudumba Shankar? then forget about Aata!(Aata Telugu Movie Review)

If someone asks me to describe Aata in one sentence then I would say ditto Gudumba shankar except the fact that hero, heroine and villian are changed.

The story, screenplay and direction has nothing to talk about since everything is like Gudumba shankar.

Songs are ok and I think everybody will forget them very easily.

I felt Siddhard had lost his image doin a film like Aata and asusually Illeyana showed some skin. Not to forget, there is a smooch scene of maybe 10secs in the movie .

The film only scores with the comedy king Brahmanandam and Sunil.. baki sab bakwaas.

Aata is total dissapointer.

Rating 4.5/10.

Tallest building in India

The historic Charminar might soon lose its status as Hyderabad's most famous structure, stated CNN-IBN.

Apart from the famous pearls and biryani, Hyderabad will now be known for it's (soon to be contrsucted) tallest building in India. The building is to be located in a 100-acre Business District in Manchirevula near Hyderabad.

"In the area that the building is coming up, the minimum height of a building should be 30-storeys. The building that we are making will be 100-plus storeyed building surrounded by a series of 10-12 30-storeyed towers. It will be a compact business district like Manhattan or Nariman point," said APIIC Vice-Chairman, B PAcharya.

The proposed Trade Tower will house corporates, hotels and other establishments. 22 international players participated in the recently-concluded bidding process.

The APIIC had initially proposed to build 60-floor twin towers. Teams were sent to study the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Sears Towers in Chicago and high-rise buildings in Dubai.
Based on their reports, a single trade tower was approved. At present, the 16-storey Babu Khan Estate, built in 1987, is the tallest commercial building in Hyderabad followed by the 13-storeyed Haj House.

According to the APIIC, the construction of the trade tower will start by July this year and it is likely to be ready in the next three years.

Nothing less than Spectacular!
(Spiderman3 Movie Review)

38.5% of us in Nexus have voted it as one of the much awaited movies this year. SP3 has finally released today with very high expectations from all around the world. Yesterday I was browsing the SP3 official website and I was very much surprised to see some amazing behind the scenes- videos. I have never even thought of such a hard and constructive work involved in making this movie. After having checked that, my expectations were skyrocketed. As I was done with my exams, I was hoping for this movie to be a good entertainer and stress buster. I, along with some of my friends made it to the 9.30 pm show at Wabush landing 9.

The movie begins with a typical fashion, by a bit of recap from the previous movies. Most of the movies I would say, begin with a slow note and picks up their pace, but this one is definitely in contrary to of all those. It starts with an excellent pace carrying the whole feel with some good comedy, which was a highlight of the movie and was missing in previous spidey movies, along with superb storyline and screenplay. The editing part is fantastic which made the whole movie flow with ease. The major plus points are the comedy and breath taking action scenes. This time the director Sam, had his share of transforming the comic into a meaningful and well modeled plot. Audience can enjoy the action scenes for much longer time and were done with some great expertise. Visual effects were at their best and the background score adds to it. This movie is a stunner including every aspect that audience could expect. The love life between Peter and MJ was given more importance stressing the ups and lows. I believe the hard work put into this movie will pay off by showering the money on producers and distributors. I would expect the box office analysis to be very high and to set a new record in openings.

Performances:

• Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker) – asusually brilliant as spidey and what more interesting is his darkness. He did an excellent job in being a punk.
• Kirsten Dusnt (Mary Jane Watson) - improved a lot when compared to the previous movies and did a decent job. This time she looked even better.
• James Franco (Harry Osborn) – Very good being a follower of his father’s revenge and as well as a true friend.
• Thomas Haden church (Flint Marko) – was ok as a sand man.
• Topher Grace (Eddie Brock) - Did a fair job as a guy who adds humor and darkness to the screen.

I feel this movie is a perfect superhero movie ever made including with great drama, good comedy, importance to the characters and with some spectacular, breath-defying action sequences. I would give 8 of 10 on a straight scale. I will assure all the readers that you would thoroughly enjoy watching this movie if you were a typical movie goer. Imagine Spidey being challenged by the two most powerful villains in the Spiderman comic. What will happen to Harry after the second part? Will he take revenge this time? Will Peter and MJ get married? Will aunt May tortured this time as well? Who are venom and sandman? How can a person battle with himself? Can he help himself from being disconnected? In the battle of four people, who would finally win? Will spidey able to win alone by himself? To unveil these questions, you got to watch this movie. If I were you, I wouldn't miss SPIDERMAN 3.

DREAM MACHINE ENTERS INDIA!

Sony India on Thursday launched its high definition gaming console PlayStation3 (PS3) at a price of Rs 39,990.

The company aims to sell 10,000 units of PlayStation3 and 50,000 units of PlayStation2 during this financial year.

Sony has initially shipped 1,200 units of the console for sale in India.

The company plans to sell half of its new consoles through its own outlets ‘Sony World’, while the balance would be sold through retail chains and music stores.

The company has also slashed the prices of the earlier versions of its gaming consoles. It would now sell PS2 for Rs 7,990 while the portable PSP would be sold for Rs 9,990.

The company is also developing India-specific gaming content which will hit the market later this year.

Sony has sold three million units of PS3 across North America, Japan and Europe since its launch five months ago. Buoyed by the increased buying power of the Indian customer, Sony India MD Masaru Tamagawa said the company is targeting a two-fold jump in the consolidated revenues to $2 billion by 2010.

Mahindra-Renault’s Logan:
The much awaited Mahindra Renault Logan has finally been launched in India with a stunning price tag of Rs. 4.2 lacs (ex-Mumbai) for the base 1.4-litre petrol version. Also on offer are a more powerful 1.6-litre petrol model priced at Rs. 5.6 lacs and the frugal 1.5-litre common-rail diesel version which is priced from Rs. 5.4-lacs to Rs. 6.4 lacs for the base and top end versions respectively.

Porsche Cayenne:
Porsche, introduced its second generation Cayenne SUV in India at a price range of Rs 49.3 lakh to Rs 1.1 crore. The newly designed Cayenne, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo models have been given more powerful Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) engines, which at the same time generate up to 15 per cent savings in fuel consumption.
The basic version of this sporty SUV has a 40-bhp power enhancement and is now driven by a 290-bhp six-cylinder engine, the displacement of which has increased from 3.2 to 3.6 litres.
Nissan Teana:
Nissan rolled out its second vehicle in India -- the luxury sedan Teana -- to tap the growing high-end car market in the country.

The sedan has been priced at Rs 20.47 lakh or Rs 2.047 million approximately (ex-showroom) in Delhi, Chennai Banglore and Hyderabad and slightly higher at Rs 20.67 lakh (Rs 2.067 million approximately) in Mumbai.

BMW
3 series :The 3 Series is available for entry-level super luxury car customers. Two trim options each will be offered for the petrol and diesel engine versions. Deliveries are expected to begin by March.

Though the engine options and the price positioning of the 3 Series cars have not been announced, they are expected to be adequately laden and priced to enable them set new benchmarks in the segment. This could mean that the cars will be priced in the Rs 20-32 lakh range.

5 series:The new 5 Series will follow the 3 Series into India and may be available in the market by June 2007. Indicating the seriousness with which BMW is entering the Indian market, company officials have confirmed that the model to be introduced here will be the new face-lifted 5 Series model with a new options package, which is yet to be launched globally.Expect pricing to be about Rs 40-lakh plus.

Maruti SX4 sedan:
Maruti launching the SX4 sedan in India later this year.The new car based on the SX4 platform is likely to be launched with an all-new 1.6-litre petrol engine and possibly with the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel that powers the Swift diesel in India.

Experts believe that Maruti could price this new car in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh.

It can't get closer than this

It was well desired third career win for Fellipe Massa but after the race, its three racers competing for the first place. Alonso, Kimi and Hamilton jointly share the first position with 22 championship points. Massa stands third with 17 points and Heidfeld with 15 points.

Mclaren tops the constructors list with 44 points, Ferrari and BMW take second and third positions with 39 and 18 points.Bahrain Grand prix had it all. Fernando Alonso started fourth on the grid and disappoints all his fans by coming fifth at the chequered flag even though he over took Kimi Raikkonen at the first turn in the beginning of the race. Ferrari did a fantastic work at the first pit stop which allowed kimi snatch back his position but the biggest overtaking maneuver of the year by Nick Heidfeld allowed the defending world champion to slip fifth.

Whereas his team-mate Hamilton made history by taking a place on the podium for the third time in the season. It’s been 25 years since anyone did that. Hamilton is no more a rookie now.

Nick Heidfeld took the fourth place as he did at the Malaysian Grand Prix. He not only raced well but also overtook Alonso to gain his fourth position.

Now, Alonso would be eyeing his home Grand prix on May 12 and 13 to take the lead.

Avril hits the right note

Its already being rumored that 2007 is the came back year for many. With Linkin Park releasing their third album in March, now it’s Avril Lavinge who released her much awaited album “THE BEST DAMN THING”.

The album contains love songs and the usual Avril Lavinge’s boy bashing rock songs. She states that, “the record is really fun and cool and different and honestly, I think it's my best record yet, I can say that with confidence".

She truly rocked the album and raised her bar a bit more this time.The first single from the album is “Girlfriend” and everybody can feel the same Avril’s sound from the previous two albums. The album songs are awesome and my personal favourite is “When you’re gone” from the album. I guess it will top the charts very soon.

The Best Damn Thing is produced by Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson,P!nk,Lady Sovereign and Daughtry), her husband Deryck Whibley(Sum 41), Rob Cavallo(Green Day,The Goo Goo Dolls,My Chemical Romance, Jewel (singer)), Butch Walker and herself. Travis Barker(Box Car Racer,Blink-182,+44) has also recorded drums for Lavigne's new album.

Comprehensive victory for Alonso

Alonso crossed the checked flag comprehensively which marked his first win for McLaren this season in the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. Mclaren tops 1-2 since 2005.
His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, already proving as the rookie of the year drove like a star. Hamilton again started fourth on the grid and not only did he take the second place after the first corner but also defended and blocked others to benefit Alonso to take lead.

Setting the race's fastest lap on lap 22, no wonder Hamilton said that the race was his most difficult one, to fend off both Ferraris.

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen hunted him down till the end and settled for the third position. Nick Heidfield and Fellipse Mass took fourth and fifth places respectively.

After the race, Alonso leads with 18 championship points and Kimi with 16 points. Mclaren has 32 Constructors points and Ferrari with 23 and BMW stands third with 10. Guess Renault lost the sheen with the loss of Alonso.

This season definitely looks like a battle ground for Ferrari and Mclaren.

The high spirited Alonso and the young blooded Hamilton make a great pair with a great car. The Mclaren team has improved a lot from the last season and brought a great car to drive for.
The usually quick Kimi and the talented Massa of Ferrari can top the charts on any given day with the quickest car.

Don’t miss the action and watch out for Hamilton, he may take the center space on the podium in Bahrain this Saturday.

New World Record

French train manufacture Alstom's V150 touched 574.8km/hr on Tuesday and broke all the previous records by a great margin. Alstrom is the second biggest train manufacturing company and the first in manufacturing fast trains.

The bullet train is named V150 since it moves 150 metres/sec. V150 is definitely the fastest train on wheels even though Japanese claim the fastest with their electromagnetic train which touched 581km/hr in 2003.

The train will open to public from July,2007 and will run from Paris to Strasbourg. It will cost less than the commercial Airliner and just more than the regular train service.

So V150 is a great threat to the Airline bussiness in France.

RAJINI starrer "SHIVAJI-THE BOSS" Music Review

After a long gap, biggies like AVM - Rajini - Shankar - AR Rahman came together to deliver a movie called SHIVAJI.

I was very excited to see all these names together and was doubly excited for the music release. Im a great fan of AR rahman and you all know it.

Today I went to my friend's house for my project work and it just happened that I heard the songs there for the first time. Would you beleive that I heard "Oru kudai sunlight" song more than ten times continously, which really pissed off my friend.

Oru kudai sunlight, is a hip-hop kind of song which Shankar used it for the first time in his movies, and asusually Rahman was at his best.
"Sahaana saral" and "Vaji vaji" were also good numbers, they have the typical southern sound.

I think the Audio will rock and sell like hell.

Dabbawallas on holiday!

The world famous Dabbawallas from Mumbai are taking a 5 day holiday.
The losers are the common man and grainers are definitely the eateries.

The dabbawala originated when India was under British rule: many Indian people who worked in British companies disliked the British food served by the companies, so a service was set up to bring lunch to them in their workplace straight from their home. Nowadays, Indian businessmen are the main customers for the dabbawalas, and the service often includes cooking as well as delivery.

Though the work sounds simple, it is actually a highly specialized trade that is over a century old and which has become integral to Mumbai's culture.

New face of GRE

Forget your GRE jitters and blues because the new Gre is supposed to be user friendly.

Experts say "A new linear GRE replaces old adaptive GRE”. From vocabulary-savvy to reasoning-savvy quant. This time the focus is on real life problems, data interpretation and quantitative reasoning. AWA has been changed into CTAW. The test is lengthier now. New question types have been introduced.

The new GRE tests your skills more on reasoning than vocabulary (so no more mugging this time). Quant will be more oriented towards data interpretation and word problems.

The quant portion will be bit difficult and verbal will be simpler. The duration of the test is over four hours and is valid for five years.

The new pattern is implemented from September 2007 and the registration starts from July and moreover it's a worldwide change.
