Atonement movie review (Probable Oscar Nominee )

Atonement is based on a british novel and is one of the contenders for best picture academy award.

The movie starts well with interestingly film-making and stupendous background score. The story grips you for a half an hour with subjects like love, cheating, crime and misunderstanding. Slowly the story is dragged to last ten minutes of some relief atlast.

Though the movie fails to make an impact, the performances of the actors is above par.

Atonement is only watchable once and I do not see a chance of it wining the academy award for best picture this year.

Atonement looked and felt a lot like Pride and Prejudice, impeccable setting, acting and dialogue. A bit depressing toward the end, but over all very well done.

i wonder: Is Briony's vocabulary typical for British 13 year olds?
